Kivi Milimani, Nairobi

For safety reasons, office has been closed for tomorrow and Wednesday.

Work plans inolving travel are not to be made in the current climate and so I have moved out of my hotel room into a hotel appartment, with a one month contract. It’s the first time since arriving in Africa that I will be somewhere long enough to actually unpack my bag.

Okay, so it wasn’t a great effort as I no longer have as much stuff as I did when I came out eleven months ago, but making myself at home is now an unfamiliar feeling. NB. I have become the type of man that uses disposable razors and the medical kit is now just one stick of After Bite.

My contract with work comes to an end next month, which I’ve decided not to renew as the position was certain to become an office job in Nairobi (and we couldn’t agree on a thing called salary).

What now? Back to England into the bosom of the advertising world, or do I stick to shaving with disposable razors?
